What are Vegetables?



Vegetable means edible part of a plant which is eaten raw, cooked, or included in desserts. It contains protein, fat, vitamins, provitamins, dietary minerals, fiber and carbohydrates, some phytochemical, and etc. Red vegetables reduce the risk of prostate cancer and growth of tumor; lowers blood pressure and help join the tissue in arthritis. Orange and yellow reduces degeneration of macula relating to age, prostate cancer risk, lowering cholesterol level and Blood Pressure, and helps collagen formation. Leafy Green, in addition, improves vision, and immunity of the body. White vegetables control the risk of different cancers. They can be included in salads, soups, fried, steamed or cooked with meat. Daily intake of vegetables is necessary, for girls especially.
